COMPETING MODELS
This is an
OPEN CLASS, any car. NO 3/4 or 1/2 ton
pickups, SUV's, Semi Trucks and
convertibles (unless covered by a wing).
GENERAL CAR AND BODY REQUIREMENTS
1. Bodies must
have doors, roof and quarter panels
2. No weight
limit.
DETAILED CAR BODY REQUIREMENTS
1. Windshield
and Windows: 1) There is to be no glass on
the race car. 2) Full steel wire mesh
minimum 1/2-inch to 1-inch square metal in
place of windshield is required. No string
nets.
2. Fenders
optional.
3.
Identification and Marking: Numbers must
be on both sides of the car and on the
roof.
4. Window Ne
Mandatory left side door driver window.
FUEL
SYSTEM
1. Approved
fuel cells recommended.
2. Fuel cells
must be securely installed in the trunk
compartment, between the frame rails, with
two 1-inch wide x 1-inch flat steel
straps, both lengthwise and crosswise.
3. Fuel cell
must be installed in a minimum 18-gauge
sheet metal box strapped in by 1/8-inch by
1-inch steel.
4. Filler
spout must remain in the trunk area sealed
off from driver.
PERSONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND ROLL BARS
1. General
Safety: 1) It is the responsibility of the
driver, not Perris Auto Speedway, its
officers, or its agents to ensure his/her
safety devices and systems are correctly
installed, maintained, and properly used
at all times.
2.
Protective Clothing: A clean full-length
fire suit and safety gloves recommended.
At a minimum, Long Sleeves, Long Pants.
leather gloves and leather boots must be
worn at all time. Racing shoes or leather
shoes required.
3. Fire
Control: Every car must be equipped with
one fully charged fire extinguisher having
at least a 10B:C rating. The fire
extinguisher must be accessible to driver
with quick release mount.
4.
Helmets: Head and Neck Restraint Devices
recommended. Snell approved helmet
mandatory, with face shield required.
Driver must rely on his own judgment in
the selection of any helmet and apparel
for durability and safety.
5. Seat
Belts: Five-point, quick release restraint
system with no less than 3-inches wide
recommended. Center crotch belt must be a
minimum of 2 inches wide. Belts must be
recertified or replaced every 3 years.
Both ends must be fastened to roll bar
cage with 3/8" grade 5 or better bolts. 4)
Belts must be mounted per manufacturer's
specifications. At a minimum, a lap and
shoulder seat belt is required. No
fiberglass, plastic or homemade seats
allowed.
6. Roll
Bars: A full roll cage is recommended.
Must have at least 4 driver door bars and
3 passenger door bars. Steel plate of 1/4
inch must be on drivers door. 3) All roll
bars are subject to safety technical
inspection and approval. 4) All cage roll
bar material must be a minimum of .090
wall steel 1-3/4 inch tubing. No
galvanized pipe. Maximum tubing diameter
2-inch. No threaded pipe fittings allowed.
5) All roll bar structure exposed to the
driver must be
padded with approved padding. The two
uprights in the left side door must be
padded.
RADIOS:
1. All Demo
Cross Drivers must have a one-way radio
raceiver or radio set to the race/scoring
frequency (464.5500).
2. The radios
will be used strictly for line-ups and
general information from the Scorer's and
Race Director only.
3. Radios are
to be provided by the Driver.
4. Drivers
will not be permitted on the track without
a radio and it must be on.
