PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY HOSTS NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION THIS SATURDAY By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, June 1, 2021) “The Craziest Show On Dirt,” Night of Destruction presented by LKQ Pick Your Part, returns to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday night, June 5th. Saturday’s wild, crash filled show will include Figure 8 Racing, a Figure 8 Trailer Race, no holds barred Demo Cross, Four-Cylinder Mini Stocks, and the zany Double Deckers. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7. Due to COVID mandates, tickets are only available online at https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7/event/1219083. Tickets will be obtainable until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night. There will be no walkup ticket sales for this event. After being off due to COVID since March of 2020, Night of Destruction made a successful return to the famous Riverside County speed plant on May 1st. At the crowd-pleasing season opener, fan favorite Jesse Gordon bested the field in the Figure 8 class in his Batmobile car. Debuting Brian Kedzior drove his ex-NASCAR Series truck to his initial PAS win in the Figure 8 Trailer main event. Wildomar’s Westin Hughes outdistanced the competition in the Democross feature, and 2019 champion Michael Hartfield of Menifee opened defense of his crown with a convincing win in the Mini Stocks. Wildomar’s Michael and Daryll Bernal came home first in the wildest Double Decker main event the track has ever seen. All the season opening winners are expected to be back on Saturday. “You could say the season opening Night of Destruction was a “smashing” success,” promoter Don Kazarian laughed. “It was wild from the first green flag of the night until the last checkered flag. With more cars ready, we think this Saturday’s show will be wilder. Just when you think Night of Destruction cannot get crazier, it somehow does. We had one of our best Figure 8 races at the opener and we heard some new cars, and a few cars from 2019 that were not ready, will be joining the action this week. The Double Decker main event was the craziest one we have had to date. Building off the opener, this Saturday’s show promises to be a thriller as well. ” The Double Deckers Kazarian referred to were introduced in 2019 and quickly became a crowd favorite. How could they not be? They feature one car stacked on top of another. The driver in the bottom car controls the gas and brake pedals. The driver in the top car controls the steering. There is no communication between the two except for hollering out the window. Like Demo Cross, the Double Deckers race on the quarter mile, but they will go in the opposite direction (clockwise). When they go faster than they should into the corner or get hit by another competitor, they get up on the two left side wheels and sometimes they flip onto their sides. When that happens you can hear the crowd reaction three counties away. Adult tickets are $20.00. Kids 6-12 are $5.00. Children 5 and under are free. The fairgrounds charges $10.00 for parking. Camping on the fairgrounds is available for $25.00 per night beginning at noon on Friday. Due to current COVID restrictions, PAS concessions will only be available on the “FANFOOD” app. The app is a free download from the App Store. Fans place their orders from their seats and pay on the app. When their order is ready, they will receive a text to go to the designated station closest to the section they are seated in to pick it up.
