LKQ PICK YOUR PART PRESENTS NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION SATURDAY AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY! By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, May 15, 2018) For the second time in 2018 LKQ Pick Your Part will present the popular “Night of Destruction” at Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday, May 19th. Known as the “Craziest Show on Dirt,” Saturday’s wild program will feature daring Figure 8 racing, a wild Figure 8 Trailer race and insane Democross racing. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 P.M. and the first race will start at 7:00. At last month’s rain delayed season opener, Kevin Cox of Ladera Ranch and his son Kyle of Huntington Beach continued a longtime family tradition when they dominated the action on the crisscross Figure 8 track. Kevin outdistanced Jesse Gordon of Beaumont and Mira Loma’s Jeremy Queener in the regular Figure 8 feature. Kyle won his first ever PAS main in the Figure 8 Trailer race over Romoland’s Garrett McCourt and Gordon. Kevin is the son of Ascot Park Figure 8 legend Earl Cox and is the brother of The PAS all-time leader in Figure 8 main event wins Earl Cox Jr. Kyle is the grandson and nephew of the two legends respectively, In the big Democross main event at the season opener Riverside’s Austin Kinane took his second ever PAS win over 2017 champion McCourt and Junior Pugh. ​Kevin Cox won the season opening Figure 8 main event on April 28. Included will be Jesse Gordon, last season’s Figure 8 and Iron Man champion. During the running of last month’s Democross main, Gordon was t-boned by another car in a violent collision. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured, but his popular “Batmobile” car sustained extensive damage. Gordon will be back on Saturday, but as this piece went to press it was not sure if he would be in the “Batmobile” or another car. Soon after the gates open on Saturday, there will be an on-track autograph and photo session where fans can meet, get the autographs, take photos and most of all, get to know all the drivers. Active military with proper id, teens 13-18 with their school id and kids 6-12 get in for just $5.00. Children 5 and under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds is $8.00.
