PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY WINTER HEAT CHALLENGE SERIES RACES CANCELED! By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, February 10, 2017) With rain once again closing in on Riverside County, Perris Auto Speedway has canceled this Saturday and Sunday’s final two rounds of the “Winter Heat Challenge Series.” “With the forecasted rain tonight, throughout tomorrow and into tomorrow night, this weekend’s final two races of the “Winter Heat Challenge Series have been canceled,” promoter Don Kazarian regrettably said late Friday afternoon. “We wanted to give everyone else a chance to plan something else for the weekend. The 2017 season opener for the PASSCAR Stock Cars and IMCA Modifieds will be one month away on March 11th. We look forward to the weather improving, but as we all know, we desperately needed the rain this winter.” The week before the PASSCAR/IMCA season opener on March 11th, the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval will kick off its 22nd season opener on March 4th with the annual “Sokola Shootout” for the Amsoil USAC/CRA, PAS Young Gun and Senior Sprint. Night of Destruction #1 for the season will take place on March 18th and the World of Outlaws will be making their only appearance in the greater Los Angeles/San Diego areas on April 1st.
