(Perris, CA, November 5, 2013) This Friday and Saturday, November 8th and 9th, Perris Auto Speedway will host the richest Street Stock race west of the Mississippi when the 2nd Annual LoanMart Street Stock Turkey Bowl takes over the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval. The main event winner will take home $1,500.00 on Friday and a whopping $4,000.00 on Saturday. Both nights will include complete programs of racing with qualifying, heat races and main events. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM each night with racing at 7:00.

The race is expected to draw entries from around the west coast and already has three cars entered from Iowa.

“The Turkey Bowl is just like the Oval Nationals was for sprint cars when we started it in 1996,” promoter Don Kazarian stated. “The first year of the Ovals a few out of town drivers showed up, but most of the field was made up of locals. It gained momentum and now the Oval Nationals is one of the most prestigious events in the USA with cars from all over the country. We expect the Turkey Bowl to grow just like the Oval Nationals and become a premiere event with cars from around the nation as well. Last year we had some cars from Iowa and they are coming back this week. Hopefully they will bring some of their buddies with them.”

Last year’s inaugural running of the race was held on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and the Turkey Night Grand Prix. Several factors weighed into the decision for PAS officials to move the race up to this weekend.

“Asking people to be at the track three days in a row on that holiday weekend is a lot,” Kazarian lamented. “Also, there are other big races at other track that weekend forcing fans and drivers who wanted to be there to make a choice. We decided to move it up this year and feel it will work out better for fans, racers and tracks alike.”

Last year, Colton’s Linny White dominated the competition and won both main events. White, who is second in LoanMart Street Stock points at the The PAS heading into this weekend’s season closing events, won his second main event of the year at the track at the last race on October 26th and is one of the favorites for this weekend.

“Linny was unstoppable at last year’s LoanMart Turkey Bowl and he said he is bringing a new car to this race,” Kazarian said. “He will be one of the favorites, but he is going to face a stiff challenge and will have to be on his game to make it two in a row. A lot of top guys are going to be here including Luke Dodd who has been the driver to beat all season long at The PAS.”

Dodd, the 2000 PASSCAR Stock Car champion from Riverside, is hoping to win the LoanMart triple-crown (LoanMart Challenge Series, PAS LoanMart Street Stock Series and the LoanMart Turkey Bowl). Already this season he has won the four race LoanMart Street Stock Challenge championship. He leads White by 127-points in the regular season long PAS LoanMart Street Stocks Series, but with the two races remaining and Saturday’s being double points, the championship is anything but decided.

Friday and Saturday will be two separate shows with heat races, preliminary and main events (25 laps on Friday and 30 laps on Saturday). In addition for the only time this year, cars will take two qualifying laps each night. The top six cars in points on Friday will be seeded directly to Saturday’s $4,000.00 to win main event.

There will be a practice session for cars entered in the LoanMart Turkey Bowl on Thursday night, November 7th. The practice will commence at 6:00 PM and is free for fans in the grandstands.
