(Perris, CA, October 22, 2013) Perris Auto Speedway will host the annual “Champion’s Night” for the Amsoil PASSCAR Stock Car Series this Saturday night, October 26th. 2013 champions will be crowned in the Modified, Super Stock and Pick-A-Part American Factory Stock classes. The LoanMart Street Stocks will also be in action, but there championship will not be decided until the 2nd Annual LoanMart Street Stock Turkey Bowl on November 8th and 9th. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM on Saturday and the first exciting race is slated for 6:30.

With double points available in the Modifieds, Super Stocks and the Factory Stocks (Street Stocks will not be a double point’s race until their finale on November 9th), all three championships are still up for grabs.

Buena Park’s Billy Griffin, who has led the Modified standings all season long, has a commanding 101-point advantage over Wildomar’s Dale Underwood heading into Saturday’s decider. Griffin has had a phenomenal season leading the standings since winning the season opener in March. In six total races on the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval this year, Griffin has two wins and three second place finishes. The only race he did not finish in the top two came on July 20th when he was clobbered by another driver on a last lap restart while fighting for the lead dropping him to seventh at the finish. Underwood is the only other driver with a mathematical chance at unseating Griffin. Four-time track champion Alan Updyke of Tustin, J.R. Stout of Perris and Arizona’s Bill McIntosh round out the top five.

Four cars are still in contention for the Super Stock championship, but it is going to take a lot to topple the red hot point leader Dennis Woolridge. The Riverside racer has dominated the action over the last four races with three wins and a second place finish. Like Griffin, Woolridge has only finished out of the top two one time (8th on April 20th) in 2013. Whittier’s David Sieser is 75-points behind the leader in the runner up spot. The fight for second is very intriguing with Rickie Lee of Beaumont trailing Sieser by 10-points and Cherry Valley’s Danny Webster only 4-points behind Lee. They are the only drivers within striking range of Woolridge. Moreno Valley’s Charles Hill is fifth.

Like Griffin and Woolridge, El Cajon’s Nathan Deragon has had a dream year in the Factory Stocks. The eloquent 15-year-old blew an engine in the season opening race and finished third in the last race after being crashed into by another driver. However, sandwiched in between, he won all four of the other races and leads Hesperia’s Fred Kottman 59-points. Kottman would have been a lot closer in the standings had it not been for a disqualification for illegal shocks on April 20th. Besides that, Kottman has four seconds and a third. Tim LaBrake of Highland, who won the last race on September 21st, is the only other driver in contention for the championship, but is 96 behind the leader. Third generation PAS driver Ian Wesoloski is fourth and James Altman Jr. of Lake Elsinore is 5th.

The Street Stocks round out Saturday’s show with their final tune up before November’s prestigious LoanMart Turkey Bowl. The hottest driver in the class is Temecula’s Blaine Whitson who has two wins and a third in the last three races. Riverside’s Luke Dodd, who already won the 4-race LoanMart Street Stock Challenge Series title, has a massive 137-point lead in the regular track championship standings over Colton’s Linny White.

Saturday’s program will include heat races and main events four all classes.
