(Perris, CA, September 3, 2013) This Saturday night, September 7th, Perris Auto Speedway, “The Southern California Home of Motorized Mayhem & Motorsports Fun,” will host “Night of Destruction #4.” The zany, fun filled program will feature a Figure 8 Trailer Race, Figure 8 Races, crazy Democross Races, Spectator Races and a special “Can You Beat a Redneck Challenge.” Spectator gates for the night of motorized bedlam and family entertainment will open at 5:00 PM and the first crash will be at 7:00. Before the show, there will be an on track autograph and photo session from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.

In addition to “Night of Destruction #4” the Perris Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Perris will be presenting the “2013 Perris Valley Brew Fest” from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Fans who wish to take in both events, can purchase a combined ticket for $40.00 that includes their tickets to the races, the Brew Fest and parking.

“The Brew Fest combined with the races should make for a great night,” PAS promoter Don Kazarian said. “For fans who want to just come to the races, they can do so at our regular ticket prices (Adults $12.00. Active military members with proper id, teens 13-18 with their school id and kids 6-12 $5.00. Children 5 and under are free.).”

The growing popularity of the “Nights of Destruction” has made it one of the track’s biggest events. The crowd grows every time the track plays host to one of the crazy nights and a huge part of it is the Spectator Races that are in their second year. Fans can race their street legal car on the tracks inner quarter mile in a drag racing style elimination where the winner climbs up the ladder. They start on opposite sides of the track (so they do not have to worry about crashing into each other) and the first one to complete two laps is the winner. The overall winner then goes on to face one of the track’s regular Street Stock competitors in the “Redneck Challenge.” If they win that race, they take home a $400.00 bonus in addition to their regular earnings.

“Never in my wildest dreams could I envision how popular the Spectator Races are becoming,” Kazarian laughed. “When we started them last year, we could not get anybody to participate. We had four competitiors and they were all employees. In a little over a year, things have really changed. Last week we had some fans rent the track so they could practice for this week’s Spectator Race.”

The vehicles used in the Spectator Races run the gamut of what you see every day on the local freeways from family cars, to mini vans, pickups, muscle cars, vintage foreign cars, station wagons, dune buggies and jeeps.

The man to beat in the Spectator Races is “Wide Open” Wayne Williams. Much to the scorn of some of the fans and to the delight of a few others, he is undefeated in his white Hyundai in Spectator Races at The PAS. In fact, last time out, he also beat one of the tracks top stock car drivers, who was driving his racecar, to win the $400.00 bonus.

“Wide Open Wayne is on an incredible run,” Kazarian chortled into the phone. “People talk trash about him and boast how they are going to beat him, but he has put every one of them away. Some have gotten close, but right now he is the undisputed, undefeated Heavyweight Champion of Spectator Racing at The PAS. Let’s see if anybody can finally back up their talk and beat him this Saturday night.”

Like “Wide Open Wayne” in the Spectator Races, Earl Cox Jr. of Norco, Ken McWilliams of Menifee and Chris Weaver of Riverside are the favorites in the Figure 8, Figure 8 Trailer Races and Democross respectively heading into Saturday’s show. Cox and Weaver are undefeated thus far in 2013.

Second generation driver Earl Cox Jr. is undefeated in PAS Figure 8 racing this season. His father was one of the top Figure 8 racers at Ascot Park.

For those who would like to enter any of the races, they can use the following link to get an entry blank:
