(Perris, CA, August 26, 2013)
Another huge night of dirt track stock car racing is coming up this Saturday, August 31st, when Perris Auto Speedway hosts round #3 of the LoanMart Street Stock Challenge. The prestigious race pays $1,000.00 to win and $100.00 to start. In addition to the Street Stocks, the Modifieds, Super Stocks, Pick-A-Part American Factory Stocks and CDCRA Dwarf Cars will also be in action on the Amsoil PASSCAR program. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first exciting race is slated for 6:00.

Riverside’s Luke Dodd, the 2000 PASSCAR champion, comes into Saturday’s event leading the standings in both the LoanMart Street Stock Challenge and in The PAS regular season LoanMart Street Stocks. In the first two LoanMart Challenge races, Dodd has a win and a second place finish. He has parlayed those two finishes into a 10-point advantage over 2004 PAS Super Stock Champion Linny White of Colton.

The drivers fighting for the LoanMart Street Stock Challenge championship, Luke Dodd of Riverside in the #98 and Colton’s Linny White in the #17, will be battling again at Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday. Media, feel free to publish this photo or the one below and please give photo credit to Vane.

In the track’s regular street stock standings, Dodd, who has two wins, two seconds and third in the first five races of the campaign, has a commanding 82-point lead over White. However, after two poor placing’s in the first two races of the year, White has a win, a second and third in the last three races Bryce Mulvey, a member of the “Buena Park Posse,” is 29-markers behind White in third.

In the Super Stocks, Riverside’s Dennis Wooldridge, leads Whittier’s David Seiser in the season long fight for supremacy. In the last three races, veteran Wooldridge has dominated the competition with two wins and a second place finish. That has allowed him to build a comfortable 56-point lead in quest of his first ever PAS championship. Third spot in the standing is Danny Webster of Cherry Valley.

PASSCAR Super Stocks lined up and ready to go at Perris Auto Speedway. The #13 is Phillip King of Riverside. Point leader Dennis Wooldridge is outside of him. Second row is Rickie Lee of Beaumont on the inside and Danny Webster of Cherry Valley. Third row is Ronald Aschtgen of Riverside on the inside and David Seiser of Whittier.

Another member of the “Buena Park Posse,” Billy Griffin, has been having a sensational season in the Modifieds and sits on top of the standings as he seeks his initial PAS championship. In the first four races of the year, he had a win and three second place finishes. At the last race on July 20th, which many say was the best Modified race in the track’s history, Griffin was fighting for the lead when he got punted on a restart and finished seventh. Nevertheless, he carries a 68-point advantage over Wildomar’s Dale Underwood going into Saturday’s race. Alan Updyke of Tustin, a four time PAS champ, is third and is only two-points behind Underwood.

In the Pick-A-Part American Factory Stocks, the season has nearly all been about Nathan Deragon of El Cajon. The talented 15-year-old, racing a car that is crew chiefed by his mom, has won the last four races. The only blemish on his 2013 record came when he blew an engine when he had an unsurmountable lead at the season opener in March. Hesperia’s Fred Kottman, who has finished second to Deragon in the last three races, is second some 61 points behind. Perris teenager and third generation driver Troy Wesoloski is third.

Saturday’s program will include heat races and main events four all classes including the CDCRA Dwarf Cars, who will be making their final PAS appearance of 2013. Ron Dunlap and Angel Figueroa won the main events the last time CDCRA was at The PAS in April.
