(Perris, CA, July 31, 2012)
Ventura, California's Bruce Douglass roared from his inside row three starting spot to win his third PAS Senior Sprint Car main event in six 2012 starts at Perris Auto Speedway last Saturday night. Douglass' victory, coupled with defending series champion Bill Badger's fourth place finish, leaves them tied for the point lead heading into the next race on August 18th.

Badger, a 62-year-old who was a regular in USRC Midget competition in the 1970s, has had a lot of good runs at The PAS, but is still looking for his first win. At the wave of the Kevin Winters' green flag to start the 20-lap main event, Badger aimed his white #75 car towards the front of the pack from his outside row two starting position. By the time the field screamed off turn two the first time, the Santa Clarita based driver passed front row starters Ed Schwarz of Santa Fe Springs and Lake Forest's "Hubcap" Mike Collins for the lead. Four time VRA Senior Sprint champ Willey Miller of Yorba Linda pushed his pretty black #75x to second by the time first lap came to a conclusion and he was bringing Simi Valley's Victor Davis with him.

Davis, 48, nearly took second from Miller on lap two, but he went wide through turns three and four. He did the same in turn one and two on the next lap and that opened up the bottom of the track for Douglass, who immediately pounced on the opportunity and promoted himself to third.

Badger's hopes on getting that elusive first PAS win took a hit when Miller, a four-time VRA Senior Sprint Car champion, raced inside of him for the lead coming off the fourth corner on lap three. Douglass got past Badger one lap later and focused in on the 58-year-old leader.

Miller held Douglass back until turn three on lap seven when the later squeezed inside for what turned out to be the race winning pass. At the same time, Davis passed Badger for third.

By the time Davis relegated Miller back to third on lap 13, Douglass had built a comfortable lead. However, Davis quickly chopped that down and they staged a spirited battle to the checkered flag. Davis took several shots at the leader including one in turn three on the last lap, but Douglass put his car where it needed to be and fended off all of the challenges. In the end, it was Douglass by two lengths over Davis. Miller finished third with
Badger fourth. Pacific Beach's Jesse Denome rounded out the top five.

After the race, the always exuberant Douglass climbed from his car and told the large, appreciative crowd, "I'm tired and I need oxygen. That's ten wins
at three tracks now. Thanks to Victor (Davis) for making this so much fun. I
knew what he had in mind. I cut down to block him."

Davis emerged victorious in the eight-lap earlier in the night.

The fight for the title will continue at the next race on August 18th. While Douglass and Badger are tied for the top spot, they had better not look over their shoulder as Davis is just 12-points off the lead and Miller is only 21-points behind.

John Aden's "777 Chassis Company" is the official chassis of the PAS Senior Sprint Car Series. At the last race of the season, drivers who have made all of the 2012 series races or only missed one, will be entered into a drawing for a free 777 Chassis. After the July 28th race, Collins, Douglass, Davis, Miller, Badger, Schwarz, Eric Rickard and Brian Williams are still eligible for the drawing.

The PAS Senior Sprint Car Series is open to drivers 45-years old and older. The only other major rule is the cars have to be cast iron block 360 engines.
There are no tire, weight or gasket rules. It is old school style "run whatcha' brung' racing." If you would like to compete please call: (951) 940-0134.

The entire 2012 PAS schedule is listed at the end of this release.
