PASSCAR 2010 SEASON OPENER THIS SATURDAY

(MARCH 2, 2010, PERRIS, CA) This Saturday night, March 6th, Perris Auto Speedway will host the 2010 PASSCAR season opener with a huge eight-division show and a new $9.00 ticket price for adult fans. The PASSCAR Street Stocks, Super Stocks (West Coast Street Stock Series), Modifieds, Sport Mods, Pick-A-Part Factory Stocks, California Lightning Sprint Cars, CDCRA Dwarf Cars and the NMRA Three-Quarter Midgets will all be racing in Saturday’s season opener. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first heat race will be at 5:30.
For the 2010 season, The PAS has joined forces and unified the Street Stock and Sport Mod rules with Victorville Auto Raceway. The track has done the same thing with the Bakersfield Speedway, Santa Maria Speedway, Giant Speedway (Hanford) and the Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare) for the West Coast Street Stock Series (PASSCAR Super Stocks). “This should be a big benefit for everyone,” Perris promoter Don Kazarian said on Monday. “It will give the racers more tracks and dates to race on. It will give the fans more cars and races to watch and it will give the promoters more cars through the back gate. We are all working together with the same rules and there are no conflicting dates.”
In addition to the standardized rules and non-conflicting dates, Kazarian has dropped the PASSCAR adult ticket price to $9.00. “These tough economic times have been very hard on our stock car crowd so we are dropping the adult ticket price to $9.00 (the price was $16.00),” Kazarian said. “Hopefully this will help the fans out and bring many of those who have been unable to attend back to the races.”
Saturday’s time frame will be the same as The PAS employed in 2009. Heat races will begin at 5:30 and the first main event will start at 6:30. “Fans like this a lot,” Kazarian said with a smile. “This schedule normally gets them on their way home an hour earlier than normal.”
PASSCAR 2009 champions Ken Searcy of Nuevo in the Super Stocks, Henry Wesolowski Sr. of Temecula in the Street Stocks, Tustin’s Alan Updyke in the Modifieds and Gary Keaster of Rosamond in the Pick-A-Part Factory Stocks are all expected to be on hand for Saturday’s season opener.

Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds (home of October’s Southern California Fair), approximately one hour east of Los Angeles and one hour North of San Diego.
