“Great
American Enduro” |
|
Come one come
all to the “Great American Enduro” on the famous half mile at the
Perris Auto Speedway. If you compete and comply with your local short
track rules in any American Factory, All American, Pure Stock, Factory
Stock or any other AMERICAN STOCK division at your local short track
then here is your opportunity to join in the FUN, THRILLS and EXCITEMENT
of enduro racing. The
RACE This
will be a “Pure” (as pure as can be) 200 lap enduro. Driver teams
are allowed and encouraged. However, the maximum allowed will be 4
drivers per car. If you think your tough enough to go it alone – good
luck. The field will not have a limit set and the race will start
3 or 4 cars wide from a standing start. This is an endurance race so
remember speed does not count as much as endurance. Spin’s crashes and
rubbing is allowed, but anyone that attempts to turn the enduro into a
demolition derby will be removed from the racetrack. Should you become
one of the unlucky ones and your car is disabled on the racetrack a red
flag will be thrown allowing the driver to exit the track. It is up to
the officials to leave or remove the car from the racetrack. You see
this is half the fun as the track progressively turns into an obstacle
course. Any loss of a wheel, tire or flat right side tire requires you
to go immediately to your pit area for repairs. The first legal (and we
hope it’s legal) to complete the 200 laps or the car that completes
the most laps (this would be a bummer) is the winner! PIT
STOPS Pit
stops will be allowed every 50 laps under yellow flag conditions. All
pit stops must be made in an orderly fashion with safety in mind. The
speed limit is 5 mile
per hour in the pit area. Anyone caught speeding in the pit area will be
assessed a (5) lap penalty. The yellow flag will be displayed for
pit/fuel stops, in which case you will follow the direction of the
officials as they organize the field so the leader is the first to enter
the pits. During the yellow flag fueling laps competitors must reduce
their speed to twenty (20) miles per hour and continue with caution. In
all cases car position must be maintained. Cars passing on yellow flag
laps will be penalized five (5) laps for every car passed. So don’t be
stupid and pass anyone! Once the last car enters the pit area there will
be a five minute time period for all cars to pit and refuel. At the end
of the five minute period the racetrack will go green and the race is
back on. The yellow flags laps do not count as laps completed. SCORING The
enduro will be scored with individual scores supplied by each team. The
scored must attend the mandatory scorer’s meeting one hour before the
race in the scorer’s section of the grandstand. Scorer will be
thoroughly instructed at the scorer’s meeting. Scorecards will be
furnished, but scorers should bring their own pens or pencils and a
clipboard. The scorer’s card must match and follow the officials
scorer’s independent scoring of random cars during the event. All
scorecards must be returned to the chief scorer immediately following
the event. If transponders are used a $25.00 rental fee will assessed. FOUR
STANDARD RULES There
are four simple rules (you knew there was going to be a few standardized
rules) you must meet so that the playing field is equal!
